After posting the wallet back I had instant good karma I ordered a fire pit for our camping trip and a second one has turned up free of charge…
Friday 26th June
The government has announced that there will be a reduction of the 2m distancing rule from July 4th
Saturday 27th June – Monday 29th June
Absolutely fuck all to report – fuck all to say – lockdown can kiss my arse!!
This week has not been the most enjoyable…..
Tuesday 30th June
We had the most terrible start to today my eldest for some unknown reason decided to have a full blown meltdown. I don’t know the reason but from what I can gather it is because I said something about him liking YouTube – he has taken it as a negative (he LOVES YouTube so I’m v. confused) and the whole thing ended up with him having a switch ban and an early night tonight.
The eldest’s day got even worse as during school he somehow had the spectacular tumble that the head teacher had to explain (from 2m away) the way he fell, what he hit on the way down and the very real possibility of him being covered in bruises….
Wednesday 1st July
Happy to report that there were no epic bruises.
The Mr does private chef work and can work away occasionally, given the current climate we had assumed that any work this year was going to be cancelled but with flights resuming and France tipped to be a likely ‘quarantine exempt’ country the work is back on. There was the usual conversation of ‘would I be ok with him working away for a few days and me juggling the kids and work’ the ‘how much he would miss us and us him’…..I mean I’m not saying that we’re overly keen on the idea, but I had checked his passport, travel insurance and flight prices all within 2 hours!
Thursday 2nd July
How’s your day going?
Me:
Friday 3rd July
Met up with my friend and her kids today, I’ve only seen her on zoom since lockdown began so to be out with all the kids doing something normal was absolutely lush! The only thing missing was a few beverages (we have assured ourselves that that will happen next time) Lovely little catchup discussing all the important current events and sharing our Facebook gossip #weareonlyhereforthecomments it makes you realise how much you need that face to actual face interaction with your friends in particular.
Saturday 4th July
Wet horrible day today so the perfect excuse to stay indoors watching films -we let the 2 bigger kids stay up last night watching films in their bedroom – I am paying for that today there has been 2 fairly serious fights with a couple a sucker slaps and a few arguments over what games are to be played on the Nintendo…..currently the girls are snuggling watching Frozen and Frank is immersed in Minecraft so we are all just about surviving today!
Today is being hailed as Super Saturday as the pubs and restaurants are re-opening along with hairdressers (I swear they coined it Super Saturday during the 2012 London Olympics when Mo Farrah, Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford all smashed it and brought home gold and silver medals? Not really fair stealing it for today but hey ho!) I am all for supporting the hospitality trade but will celebrating my own super Saturday with a super bottle of wine….
Sunday 5th July
We all got together for my mums birthday today, had a lush walk along Mudeford beach and then headed to get takeaway burgers from a vegan takeaway in Boscombe. We had all been looking so forward to it and were absolutely starving – I’d checked their Sunday hours everything looked good so we headed over to Boscombe and parked up. For anyo
ne that knows Boscombe it’s not the most idyllic of beach locations and the car park nearest to takeaway was depressing to say the least. The fact that my youngest had fallen asleep meant that we had to hang out in the carpark whilst the designated gatherers went and got burgers. My brother and I stayed behind with the kids that were awake and after they were running around like little lunatics we decided to lock them in our respective cars. After about 10 minutes the gatherers returned, and as they got closer it was clear that they had nothing in their hands. Turns out the bastards weren’t open, contrary to the open sign on the restaurant door, the website and deliveroo stating otherwise. It was such an anti climax we ended up starving hanging around in a car park, not the best of ends to a birthday celebration!
Monday 6th July
The penultimate week of school begins better make the most of it!
