A Story by 8 Year Old Frank (title TBC)

I have been trying (and failing – see my last blog) to homeschool the kids during lockdown, together we have come up with a new approach. This is the first of my 8 year old sons stories – he assures me that there are many in his head just waiting to be put to paper!

He is Minecraft obsessed and would actually spend his entire life on
the computer if he was allowed. He also loves reading and writing so he (with a little nudge from me) has decided to write his own Minecraft memoirs. Today is the introduction and I hope to post it chapter by chapter until we reach the end (if you know, you know!) Enjoy!!

INTRODUCTION

Once upon a time , a person called Steve was spending time chatting to his best friend , Jim the black-smith . They were talking about the local mine and stuff .

“The local mine is really helping people get materials for their jobs ! Even the butcher is using it for coal ! I am using it for iron myself .”Said Jim .

“I am go-“ Steve was interrupted by the mayor . (His real name is Barry) .

“Ahem . I have noticed a bug with the local mine . We will have to use torches from now on . I have witnessed a few strange creatures in the mine that spawn there . One was a human skeleton with a bow . I call it a skeleton . Also there is a three block tall , black, purple eyed teleporting thing, that I call an Enderman. There is also a green version of Steve that I call a zombie .”

“Psh” Said Steve

“I heard that, Steve!” Shouted the mayor “Oh and also a four legged creature with no arms ! End of speech .” The mayor then turns and leaves.

“Whoa … he’s rude !” Said Steve .

“I think it was useful actually !” Said Jim surprisingly .

“Are you serious ! I meant when he said ‘a green version of Steve’. It really seemed to put me off of what he was saying after it .” Said Steve annoyed .

“Oh …” Said Jim surprised. “I wonder what the green thing does , explode , whack you with its head , I have no idea !”
